Below is a little tour of the vihāra monastic quarters where I live in community with my fellow monastics:
Tiu ĉi estas foto de la komunejo. La monaĥoj volontule kuniĝas ĉitie po du foje ĉiutage por reciproke ĝui sian kuneston. Ĉe la tablodekstra kutime sidas la monaĥoj, kaj maldekstre sidas la anagārika-oj kaj la sāmanera-oj, sed ne estas strikta regulo pri tio.
This is a shot of the Common Room. The monks voluntarily assemble here a couple times a day to enjoy each other's company. The table to the right is where the monks normally sit and the table to the left is where the anagārikas and sāmaneras usually take a seat. However, there's no set rule on this.

This is one of the two showers we have at our disposal. We not only shave our beards but also our heads and eyebrows rather frequently, I shave in the shower ˿ the 100% humidity affords a cleaner shave.

This is a very recent addition to the vihāra – a washing machine! Prior to its being given to us, everyone would wash their clothing solely by hand. That was not particularly easy on the anagārikas, since we wear all white!

The basins are just around the corner from the washing machine and showers. Some of us use them for shaving, others for brushing teeth.

We hang our clothes on these lines in the garden to dry (when it's sunny). If it's rainy, then we can hang them in the drying room behind the sālā. As you can plainly see, bhikkhus wear brown.
Bruligota ligno seke konserviĝas ĉi tie -- protektita de la tipebrita malseka vetero.
Fire wood is kept nice and dry here – protected from the rather moist weather so common in England.

In addition to our morning work, we also all perform a daily chore: I sweep the vihāra's five entrances ˿ here you see the path I sweep every day.

Tio estas mia almozujo -- plenigita ĉiutage (krom dum fastado) de ladāna (la malavareco) de aliuloj. Laŭ la monaĥaj Preceptoj, nidaŭre strebas indi je la donaco de aliuloj.
This is my mendicant bowl ˿ filled everyday (except when I fast) by others' dāna (generosity). Following the monastic Precepts, we constantly strive to remain worthy of other's gifts.
Miaj ŝrankoj enhavas ne-Dhamma-ajn librojn, KD-ojn kaj DVD-ojn. Miaparte ĝuas lingvojn, historion, poezion kaj dokumentariojn.
My cupboard holds non-Dhamma books, CDs and DVDs ˿ in particular I enjoy language, history, poetry and documentaries.
